NetScaler MPX / SDX (hardware) lifecycle status — the real story
NetScaler MPX and SDX are the hardware appliances under NetScaler ADC (formerly Citrix ADC): MPX is the physical ADC, SDX the multi-tenant chassis that hosts ADC instances. Cycles on this page are appliance platforms, so it is the hardware companion to the NetScaler ADC software page: the exploited CVEs that put NetScaler in CISA's KEV catalog (CitrixBleed and its successors) are software CVEs and are tracked there, but they run on these boxes. Every date comes from Citrix's own Notice of Status Change articles on support.citrix.com, one per platform family, read on 2026-09-03; the article behind each cycle is recorded on it. Citrix's definitions, quoted from those notices: End of Sale is the date on which Citrix will no longer offer the product; End of Maintenance is the date for end of software support and development; End of Life signals the point at which no support or maintenance is provided.
Field mapping: support is Citrix's End of Sale date; eol is Citrix's End of Life date; the Notice of Status Change date and the End of Maintenance date (called End of Upgrades in the older notices) are carried as extra fields. Citrix's separate notice CTX476864 ended sales of all perpetually licensed MPX and SDX hardware on March 5, 2023; that is a licensing milestone and is not modelled as a hardware end-of-life here.
The dates that matter now. The MPX/SDX 15000-50G and 15000Z-50G reach End of Life on March 8, 2028 (end of sale March 8, 2023). The MPX/SDX 15000, 26000, 26000-100G and 26000T-100G reach it on September 4, 2028 (end of sale September 4, 2023), with the MPX/SDX 16000 series named as the replacement. The newest notice covers the MPX/SDX 26000Z-50S and the MPX 15000Z-50G FIPS: end of sale October 9, 2024, End of Life October 9, 2029. Already past End of Life: the MPX/SDX 14000 series on October 1, 2024, the MPX 5500 and 8000 series and the SDX 8000 series on January 1, 2024, and the MPX/SDX 11500 series on October 15, 2022.
The MPX/SDX 16000 series and the MPX 9100 FIPS are the platforms Citrix names as replacements and carry no Notice of Status Change; they appear here without dates, which the EOS Edge Device feed reports as no date announced. Under CISA BOD 26-02 a NetScaler appliance past its End of Life date is an end-of-support edge device regardless of the firmware release on it.

What does NetScaler MPX / SDX (hardware) end of life mean for your organization?
When a version of NetScaler MPX / SDX (hardware) reaches end of life, the maintainers stop issuing security patches. Vulnerabilities discovered after this date are publicly disclosed on the National Vulnerability Database, exploit code appears on GitHub, and your systems remain permanently exposed.
The CVE blind spot: Most vulnerability scanners check for known CVEs but do not flag the accumulation of unpatched vulnerabilities in EOL software. With a zero-day, nobody knows about the vulnerability. With EOL software, the vulnerability is public — listed, rated, and often weaponized — but no patch will ever exist. How to choose, in one question: how many more years does this system need to run? Under a year, extended support (where it exists) is usually cheaper than an emergency migration. One to three years, migrate — support purchased repeatedly costs more than doing the project once, and the project only gets harder as the version ages. Indefinitely, migrate now and plan the next migration before it surprises you.
Worth saying plainly, because vendors selling extended support rarely will: extended support is often the more expensive choice over a multi-year horizon. It is the right answer when a deadline is genuinely unreachable, not as a default. Compare the annual fee against the one-time cost of migrating before committing to either.
